Bridge Replacement Over the Swift River in Cummington, MA

Working in partnership with the Town of Cummington and Gill Engineering, A.J. Virgilio Construction is rebuilding the Stage Road Bridge over the Swift River — restoring an essential connection for local residents and travelers.

Work includes site excavation, stream channel preparation, and foundation installation for new segmental retaining walls. This project improves safety, resiliency, and long-term infrastructure for the community.

Bridge Replacement Over Dorothy Pond in Millbury, MA

A.J. Virgilio Construction has officially kicked off the full bridge replacement on Wheelock Ave over Dorothy Pond in Millbury, MA. In partnership with the Town of Millbury and Weston & Sampson, our team is removing the existing structure and installing a new precast 4-sided box culvert engineered for long-term performance and improved roadway safety.

This project features Aqua-Barrier cofferdams for efficient water control, along with stream bed restoration, new paving, sidewalks, guardrail installation, and final line striping. Major construction efforts are scheduled through 2025, with final site restoration set for Spring 2026.

Site Development at Crocker Elementary School in Fitchburg, MA

A.J. Virgilio Construction is proud to deliver the full site development package for this new school project, handling every phase from land clearing and excavation to underground utilities, grading, backfill, paving, line striping, and topsoil finish. With the help of trusted partners including Milton Cat, Fontaine Bros., Aggregate Industries, Core & Main, and White Cap, our team is building a strong foundation for the future.

Sitework, Utility and Drainage Job Site at Eagle Brook School in Deerfield, MA

Responsible for constructing an access/haul road essential to the development of a new dining hall facility for Eaglebrook students. The project includes extensive site work, utility installation, and drainage improvements, culminating in the renovation of a modern Varsity Field on campus.

Forest Lake Dam Reconstruction in Winchester, NH

After nearly a century of service, the Forest Lake Dam was lost to severe flooding in July 2023, dropping lake levels by nearly six feet and halting fishing, boating, and recreation.

A.J. Virgilio Construction, in collaboration with the Forest Lake Improvement Association, is proud to announce the successful rebuild of this vital structure. With lake levels now fully restored, the community can once again enjoy everything Forest Lake has to offer.

Bridge Replacement Job Site in Wales, MA

Responsible for replacing the bridge on Holland Road over Wales Brook, which requires a 21-day road closure. The project also includes constructing a 250-foot retaining wall and completing road reconstruction.

Bridge Demolition and Replacement Job Site in Petersham, MA

Responsible for the demolition and replacement of an existing steel beam bridge with a prefabricated bridge supported by a prefabricated concrete abutment system. The project includes partial demolition of concrete-faced masonry abutments, repairs to the remaining structures, and the removal and replacement of the road surface and guardrail.
